It is important to understand that it is not possible to indicate the price of a procedure without first seeing the patient in consultation. Indeed, how can the cost of a procedure be assessed without knowing precisely what it will involve? The total cost of procedures varies, but the basis on which it is established is clear. It will depend on clinic fees (which vary with the type of procedure, operative time, length of hospital stay, etc.), anaesthetic fees (directly related to the duration and complexity of the procedure, etc.), and surgical fees (which vary according to the complexity and length of the procedure and any required devices such as implants, etc.). Therefore, giving an upfront, speculative estimate that would then be amended in consultation is, in our view, not good medical practice but rather an unsound commercial pitch. Moreover, this practice is not permitted under French law. For these reasons, you will understand that we cannot respond favourably to this kind of request by email. We prefer to provide, at the first consultation, a clear, detailed and final quotation.
What is the fee for a consultation? It ranges from 80 to 100 euros, depending on the duration and complexity of the consultation. Docteur Lionel Sallaz will then offer your post-operative follow-up consultations free of charge during the first few months after the surgery.
Are surgical procedures covered? In reconstructive surgery, in certain clearly defined situations, the Sécurité Sociale (CPAM) in France may, on a case-by-case basis, partially cover some procedures. This then triggers your entitlement with your complementary health insurer, who will then advise you of the amount that will ultimately remain payable by you.
